About Beth Reese
I am a strategic utility executive who excels at the intersection of finance and operations. I have a strong financial and operations background which creates a unique perspective and ability to assess the financial impact and risk of large-scale operational imperatives including technology transformations, mergers, acquisitions and divestitures. As Senior Vice President at AGL Resources (NYSE: GAS), I led the acquisition of Nicor Gas, including meeting all regulatory requirements, which took AGL Resources from 2.1M customers to 4.3M customers. I then went on to lead Nicor Gas as President where I successfully transitioned the culture from one of cost containment to one committed to safety, growth and customer service while also creating immediate synergies for the shareholders.I am a qualified financial expert and regularly interact with the Southern Company Audit Committee to report out on several large projects including a project to modernize the Southern Company information and billing system. While CFO of Southern Company Gas, formerly AGL Resources, I attended board meetings regularly and helped to shape board agendas. I am the immediate past Board Chair of the Metro Atlanta American Heart Association where I have led them to achieve the gold level standard for governance and fundraising. I am interested in expanding my corporate board work by serving on the board of either a public or private company.
