About Beth Slagle
Beth A. Slagle, an attorney at the law firm of Meyer, Unkovic & Scott LLP, maintains an active practice focused principally on business issues, insurance coverage and employment law. She is the Chair of the firm\'s Diversity Group, Chair of the Insurance Coverage Litigation Group and Co-Chair of the firm\'s New Venture & Entrepreneurs Group. Ms. Slagle’s practice includes representing entities and individuals in a variety of insurance coverage and contract related claims. She has recovered millions of dollars for companies, including more than for a single corporate client. She also has significant experience in employment law matters as well as representation of serial entrepreneurs. One of her passions is helping women and minorities launch and sustain their business. She was inducted into the Class of 2011 Allegheny County Bar Foundation Fellows, has been selected for inclusion in Pennsylvania Super Lawyers and is AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell. In 2010, she was inducted into the inaugural class of Crestview High School\'s Hall of Fame. The Women & Girls Foundation honored Ms. Slagle in 2009 at the Art of Justice: Women Shaping the Law event, and in 2008, she was selected as a YWCA Greater Pittsburgh “A Tribute to Women” awardee. From 2005 to 2013, Ms. Slagle founded and ran BizChicks, a professional women’s organization focused on networking, education and empowerment. 2011 brought the newest expansion with BizChicks Online, an e-zine written by and for women. In 2005, she was named a finalist for the ATHENA Award, and in 2004, was recognized as a \"Fast Tracker\" by the Pittsburgh Business Times. She currently serves on the Executive Committee of 412 Food Rescue and as Vice President to the Board of Hope Haven Farm Sanctuaries. She serves on the Board of Handmade Arcade, is an Advisory Board member for Chatham University\'s Center for Women\'s Entrepreneurship, a board member of the Civic Law Project for the Women\'s Center & Shelter and a board member for the Pennsylvania Watercolor Society.
