ABOUT BETHANY DEPALO
I am currently seeking a new role in the public health or human services sector, ideally within New Jersey, though I am open to virtual opportunities as well. I am eager to expand my network and connect with professionals in public health, non-profits, healthcare, education, and other human services fields. Additionally, I am interested in pursuing a Master\'s program in Public Health, Public Policy, or Social Work. If you have information about relevant programs or represent a college, feel free to reach out! In my most recent role, I am completed a service term as an AmeriCorps Fellow with the National Mental Health Corps (Formerly Healthy Minds Alliance). My host site was EveryMind, a nonprofit organization based in Rockville, Maryland. In this role, I provided mental health trainings to the community and engage in extensive outreach efforts. This work closely aligned with my passion for mental health and my commitment to improving overall community wellbeing. My proudest accomplishments include: 1. Training more than 200 individuals in adult mental health first aid and question, persuade, refer, including healthcare workers and community members; this includes nurses, community health workers, college students and staff, nonprofit organizations, and parents. Helping to facilitate and organize outreach efforts in Prince George\'s County, Maryland to expand the reach of our Project Wellness initiative and community education team as a whole. This includes forming partnerships with The Arc of PG County, the PG County Health Department, Heritage Care, and Prince George\'s Community College. Educating high school students from the public health youth ambassador program in Fairfax, Virginia about EveryMind\'s services. I am currently working part-time at Brick Bodies, a gym founded by Victor and Lynne Brick, who established the John W. Brick Mental Health Foundation in 2015. This connection between physical fitness and mental health resonates deeply with me, as I believe that holistic approaches to health—encompassing both mental and physical wellness—are essential.
