Executive Director for Greater Connecticut Youth Orchestras (GCTYO), based in Fairfield, CT. GCTYO brings young musicians together to achieve the highest standard of music performance in a welcoming, inclusive, and safe environment. Founded in 1961, GCTYO is the largest youth orchestra in Connecticut. Members in grades 5-12 are selected by audition and come from 40 Connecticut communities. The GCTYO program is developmentally progressive and includes 15 distinct ensembles at every level for strings, winds and percussion. The ED is responsible for all administrative functions, including communications with 330 students, 300 families, 20 staff members, and 14 Board members; financial management; grant writing; marketing & publicity; website & social media presence; concert & rehearsal operations; and collaboration with other organizations. Greater Connecticut Youth Orchestras (GCTYO) was formerly known as Greater Bridgeport Youth Orchestras (GBYO).
