   Director, Manufacturing Quality - Responsible for strategic direction and quality performance improvement for manufacturing and supplier quality at all Shutterfly and Spoonflower facilities, as well as the quality performance of 49 external business partners. Products include paper based products, photogifts, Lifetouch portraits and yearbooks, as well as Spoonflower fabric and home décor. • Used Pareto analysis on customer defect data and developed Cost of Poor Quality model for shipping damage. Initiated a statistically-driven project to change photobook packaging, estimated to save 1.3M annually.• Standardized quality department manning levels and created strategic volume-based manning templates.• To enhance new hire and temporary labor orientation, led the team to develop videos for critical-to-quality operations to enhance right first time performance. 53 training videos were completed exceeding goal of 20.• Developed and led structured 8D problem-solving process across the organization for escalated issues to e-staff.• Partnered with IT to develop a new system for capturing Lifetouch yearbook concerns. Performed beta testing, identified process improvements, and trained individuals to manage the new system. • Implemented risk assessment process for all new product, equipment and new material introduction.• Maintained product quality performance through COVID-19 labor challenges at 99.7% okay rate for customer reported manufacturing defects, and 99.98% okay rate for “not mines”, where customers receive product that is not their own. • Developed standard templates with IT support to migrate all brand KPI’s from excel spreadsheet to PowerBI to streamline metric reporting and dashboard visibility• Implemented a first of its kind math based model to determine quarterly and annual quality goals.
