The stress response is instinctually activated when you perceive a threat in your environment. When you are chronically exposed to perceived threats (i.e. illness, loss, financial insecurity) your nervous system becomes dysregulated and you may experience difficulty sleeping and/or concentrating, racing thoughts, tense muscles, exhaustion, lack of motivation and/or joy, and negative thoughts about yourself and/or the world around you. This is your body\'s way of trying to keep you safe. My job is to help you recognize the perceived threats in your environment so you can learn to mitigate your exposure and develop coping mechanisms to promote a sense of safety and autonomy. I have had the privilege of working with adult victims of abuse, military personnel, police/fire, and healthcare workers on the frontlines during the COVID-19 pandemic and I have seen first hand the power of the human spirit. I believe, that with the right support and guidance, we are all capable of overcoming insurmountable odds. I use evidence based trauma treatment modalities (EMDR, CPT, DBT. solutions focused, strength based) to walk with you on your journey in healing and discovering your authentic self.
