Experienced management-side employment lawyer with broad knowledge of the laws and everyday issues affecting employers\' personnel management. Strong adviser, advocate, and litigator. I provide counsel on the alphabet soup of anti-discrimination and wage & hour laws (ADA, ADEA, FLSA, FMLA, WFEA, Title VII) affecting employers. For example, I help employers deal with sticky employment situations involving the intersection of the ADA and FMLA, identifying reasonable accommodations through the interactive process, and handling discipline of employees who have engaged in protected activity. On the wage and hour side, I advise clients on proper classification of workers as independent contractors/employees and exempt/non-exempt, as well as bonus programs and other compensation issues.On the litigation side, I defend employers against discrimination charges filed with the EEOC, Wisconsin ERD, and other local and state agencies, as well as complaints filed in state and federal court. I also represent employers in labor arbitration termination cases, unemployment hearings, and unreasonable refusal to rehire worker\'s compensation hearings. Most recently, I successfully defended a union shop\'s termination of an employee for a first-offense LOTO violation.
