ABOUT BETH JOHNSON
Experienced and dedicated to providing support, care and empowerment to young people and families to support development, growth and independence.I am the Registered Manager of a 5-bed Children’s home, specialising in autism and complex needs. I complete transitions and referrals, and have supported young people in and out of the home. I am responsible for the effective running of the home, recruitment and retention of the staff team and following all regulations/standards to ensure compliance with Ofsted and the multidisciplinary team. I recently completed my first Ofsted inspection, gaining *Good* in all areas. A graduate in English Language, Linguistics and British Sign Language, leading to extensive work with children with autism, complex needs and communication difficulties. I found a passion for advocating for young people whilst also providing them opportunities for expression and communication. I have completed a Post Graduate Diploma through Step Up to Social Work, registering with Social Work England. I worked with the authority’s therapeutic service before qualifying and working within the Cared For and Court Team. I supported, advocated for and case held children from 0-18, seeking permanence for young people in provisions where their physical, emotional and educational needs were more than met. I also worked at CAMHS as a Mental Health Practitioner, offering assessments and therapy, often having experienced traumatic experiences through the care system- PBS Coach - Mental Health First Aider- Qualifying as a Solution Focused Hypnotherapist in June 2024.
