ABOUT BETH HARGREAVES
As a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist (SaLT) working in Neurodevelopmental services, I\'m a passionate advocate for person-centred, neuroaffirmative diagnostic assessment. I bring 10 years of experience as a SaLT, with a focus on diagnosing autism in young people and adults, for the last 7 years. I have a particular interest in internalised autistic presentations and social camouflaging. My expertise includes formal training and extensive application of autism diagnostic tools such as DISCO, ADI-R, ADOS-2, RAADS-R and ACIA, complemented by various screening measures and supplementary assessment tools such as the CAT-Q. I currently serve as Development Lead for ProblemShared, where I design, deliver and oversee clinical Development Programmes to build neuroaffirming autism diagnosticians.My previous experience includes a Clinical Lead role in NHS secure, forensic inpatient services, where I was the lead Speech and Language Therapist for the inpatient autism team, held a complex communication and dysphagia caseload, conducted staff training, and championed trauma-informed care, accessible information, and meaningful coproduction in service development.I am a HCPC Registered Speech and Language Therapist and I am a member of RCSLT.
