About Beth Hannon Penny
I developed a strong sense of devotion for the nonprofit sector as a beneficiary of multiple mentors who were executives of social justice and educational leadership nonprofits nearly 25 years ago. Experiences teaching in Title 1 schools, helping youth learn to read, and in conversations with clients transitioning into homes, into the U.S. or out of incarceration gave me a deep appreciation for how nonprofits, especially Amalgamated Foundation and our courageous partners, seek to improve the quality of life for communities, one program at a time. Our opportunity to create solutions that are community led inspires me daily.I enjoy spending time with my family and dear friends, hiking, yoga, traveling, eating chocolate and jumping on trampolines. I view work as a calling and an opportunity to make love more visible in the world.
