About Beth Burgin

Here are six quick things about me and my work. I don\'t believe there are strangers in the world, just people I have yet to meet. I am excited to meet those folks. This gregarious nature was not something I was born with, in fact, I was painfully shy as a child. As time went on I found my voice, my passion and began to revere people for their uniqueness and individualism. Now, I stand tall, create a safe place for all conversations, and lead with my heart. This approach to communication and life has lead to great success with the majority of my interactions!I\'ve created innovative, patient centered, programs to better serve the community, patients, and the hospital. Readmission rates, utilization management, and community outreach have been the major focus for this last three years.I got my job in Case Management in a usual way. Worked my way from front line Case Management through the levels of hierarchy, landing as the Director for the last 6 years. Understanding every facet of the department has been a blessing.I am a doer. There is not a lot of downtime for the mind that is always improving a process. Asking Why, Why, Why, Why, Why, and Why leads me to process improvement opportunities. Never afraid to muck up the water if there is a risk the organization may lose money, be out of compliance, and/or there is a patient safety concern.I don\'t like to advertise this fact, but I\'d do my job for free. It is my passion.
