I help IT executives answer these questions, just in case the CEO or Board wants to know:1. How large is the language of SAS codebase at this firm and is it under source management.2. Quantify this firm\'s dependencies on licensed products from SAS Institute3. How long would it take for the SAS product\'s administrator at your site to give you list of all licensed products run across all servers in all lines of business? If he/she can tell you in under a day, then you have a keeper. If they say they need more than a day, then you need to take corrective action. Come see me, and I can help. PROC PRODUCT_STATUS;RUN;is the code to submit. You can use this to test your staff.4. If your CEO asks you to quantify the sum total storage costs associated with language of SAS datasets across the enterprise, how long would it take you? This includes mainframe DASD.sas7bdat files on Linux/Windows server, both on-prem and hosted, etc. How long would that take? If it takes less than 5 business days, then I would like to talk with you and you can teach me how to run a disciplined IT shop. If this is more than 5 days, I know how to help and we should talk.5. If you ask around about SAS to Python refactoring efforts and they tell you they bought a copy of my book,\"Python for SAS Users\", then tell them the author maintains a super-set of the code examples If your CEO asks you, how many of these SAS to Python refactoring projects are underway, then keep this in mind: Just because a project is technically feasible, that does not automatically make the project economically feasible. If you want to know how I know this, it\'s because I refactored a language of SAS revenue forecast model at a systemically important U.S. bank into PySpark. When I started this project, I was told the project duration was measured at three months. When I measured it, I estimated 12 months. It actually took me 14 months. This was 1 program.
