About Alli Berry

I am the SEO Director at MarketWise and a freelance SEO consultant. SEO and content marketing are my main areas of expertise. I\'ve helped businesses develop and scale content strategies to grow their acquisition funnel through organic search in a variety of industries including finance, education, retail, automotive, and healthcare. Most recently, I served as the SEO Director of The Motley Fool and Senior Director of Content Marketing at The Arena Group.I love teaching and learning - after completing my BA in Communications and Economics from Lake Forest College, I became an English teacher in Japan. When I returned home, I spent some time studying special education and developed a passion for accessibility. I ended up taking that passion into search marketing and started working as an SEO Specialist helping companies make their websites more accessible to search engines. As I grew in my career, I became more specialized in content strategy, but I have overseen all aspects of SEO for enterprise companies. I am a quarterly contributor to Search Engine Journal, and I speak occasionally at digital marketing conferences to keep my teaching skills sharp. A few notable conferences I have spoken at include Content Marketing World, Semrush Summer Jam, the News and Editorial SEO Summit, and the Digital Summit Series.When I\'m not plugging away at SEO and content marketing, you can generally find me on the tennis court, hiking somewhere in Colorado, exploring new restaurants, or reading on my front patio.
