About Matt Bernstein

Lead Product Engineer at Netgain Solutions, where I architect and build enterprise financial automation products on the NetSuite platform. I lead development across three SuiteApp products—NetClose, NetCash, and Netgain Tools—spanning month-end close automation, open banking integrations, and inter-company transaction management. My work sits at the intersection of complex accounting workflows and modern web development. On any given day I’m writing SuiteScript Map/Reduce jobs to process thousands of transactions, building React/TypeScript frontends with AG Grid and Vite, or designing automation rule engines that eliminate hours of manual reconciliation for finance teams. Before Netgain, I spent two years as a Technical Consultant at Oracle NetSuite, where I developed account customizations and internal tooling. I hold the NetSuite SuiteFoundation and SuiteScript Developer certifications and graduated Summa Cum Laude from Texas Tech University. I also maintain an open-source Chrome extension (NetSuite Utilities) and built our team’s internal shared React component library and Claude Code plugin marketplace.

   Lead full-stack development of three NetSuite SuiteApp products: NetClose (financial close automation), NetCash (open banking and cash management), and Netgain Tools (inter-company transaction allocation and reporting)• Architect and maintain NetClose’s 7-module platform (reconciliation, flux analysis, accrual, amortization, task management, close control, and reporting)• Built NetCash’s transaction matching engine featuring rules-based automation, manual matching workflows, and a best-match suggestion algorithm, integrated with 5 bank data providers (Plaid, GoCardless, Finicity, Skript, and native NetSuite connections)• Designed and implemented drag-and-drop automation rule sequencing, intelligent cash application workflows, and custom NetSuite transaction types with formal approval processes in NetCash• Developed Netgain Tools’ shared transaction allocation system, NetInsight—a customizable SuiteQL-powered dashboard framework with pre-built financial workflow dashboards, and cross-validation rules engine• Built MCP tools for NetClose and NetCash, enabling customers to interact with financial products through any LLM via NetSuite-connected MCP server• Created and maintain @netgain/ui, a 25+ component React library (React 19, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, Radix UI) used across all Netgain products, published as an internal npm package• Built a Chrome extension (NetSuite Utilities) with a SuiteQL editor, command search, script log viewer, and record detail explorer—published on the Chrome Web Store• Established an internal Claude Code plugin marketplace with 5 AI-powered dev workflow tools including parallel code review, Jira QA automation, and client-facing release note generation• Tech stack: React 19, TypeScript 5.9, Vite, SuiteScript 2.1, SuiteQL, AG Grid, TipTap, Tailwind CSS/DaisyUI, Node.js, pnpm, Vitest/Jest
