ABOUT BERNICE GUDINO
Less than 2% of Latinas hold a bachelor\'s degree in engineering, & I\'m proud to be one of them. As a first-generation Latina navigating the STEM field, I’m passionate about advancing technology and supporting my community. My background in Mechanical Engineering with an emphasis on Bioengineering has equipped me with strong research skills, particularly from my work at the SDSU NanoFab Lab, where I contributed to improving biosensor technology for real-time biomarker monitoring. Beyond the lab, I’ve demonstrated leadership as President of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE), where I organized outreach events for K-12 students and co-launched a mentorship program connecting students with industry professionals. Now, I’m focused on upskilling in bioinformatics, data science, and software engineering to expand my impact in human health and technology. I\'m driven by a commitment to continuous growth and giving back to the greater community through research, mentorship, and service.I am always open to connect.
