Chartered Civil Engineer in the Portuguese Institution of Civil Engineers with more than 20 years experience in the development and design of major highways schemes. Management of major multi-disciplined infrastructure projects at both design and construction stages in the UK and Europe; Passionate about delivery, always aiming to provide value for money, beyond expectations. Significant experience delivering high profile design and build projects. MSc in Transport Infrastructure; Licentiate Degree in Civil Engineering; Eur-Ing Title (European Professional Engineer); English, Portuguese and Spanish. Interest in Infrastructure Projects (Transportation, Water, Energy), Delivery and Project Management of Major Projects.Bernardo is an outcome focussed Project Manager and has driven the delivery of a number of high profile design and build projects particularly on the M25 including Smart Motorways, widening schemes and junction improvements. He is passionate about delivery, always aiming to provide value for money, beyond expectations. On the M25 Smart Motorway he was instrumental in deliver into service the first two All Lane Running schemes in the country in 36 months (from inception to opening). More recently he has led the delivery of the Package 2 M4 SMP J3-J12 Detailed Design with anticipated VE savings (>£35m), M25 J10-J16 SMP Alliance (VE savings >£29m) and M60 Simister Island Interchange (VE savings >£44m). Bernardo looks forward to delivering the detailed design bringing his experience of rapid delivery and collaboration skills working with other suppliers and key stakeholders.
