ABOUT CHRISTINE BERGERON
Please note that I am currently not working in order to best focus on my family and my health. I appreciate each and everyone of you.I\'ve spent my career working with organizations that put people first, leading companies that are building sustainable communities and allocating capital to influence positive change.I was the President and CEO at Concert Properties. Concert was built out of a core belief—that strong, sustainable communities are fundamental to the social well-being of all Canadians. We develop, own and manage rental apartments and seniors’ active aging communities; develop condominium homes; and develop, acquire and manage industrial and commercial properties. Prior to Concert, I was the President & CEO of the Vancity Group, Canada’s largest credit union, as well as President and CEO of Vancity\'s subsidiary bank VCIB. As a financial cooperative, Vancity helps its members take charge of their financial future and make their local communities stronger. Prior to the CEO position, I held various executive positions including the Chief Member Services Officer leading Vancity’s lines of business & community engagement teams. I\'ve spent over 25 years working with entrepreneurs, financing innovative companies and building financial firms – always looking to embed sustainability into business strategy. As a founding team member of Chrysalix Energy, an early stage venture capital firm, I was part of a team that pioneered \"cleantech\" investing. I then co-founded a successful alternative asset management firm furthering my expertise in sustainability financing. I also spent five years volunteering for a non profit focused on pulling people out of poverty through investments in clean energy in the developing world. I\'m passionate about education, entrepreneurship, democracy, social trends and empowering people to be their best. I was the Chair of InBC Investment Corporation, previously served as the North America representative on the UNEP FI’s PRB Banking Board. I am a board member of Aviso Wealth and a member of UBC Sauder\'s Faculty Advisory Board.I am a BIV Influential Woman in Business award recipient, BC Business corporate leader winner, a BC Power 50 winner, a BC 500 recipient, and was listed as one of BC\'s 2019 Most Influential Women in Finance. In 2018, I was nominated as a YWCA Woman of Distinction. I was awarded the Clean16 for Canada’s 2017 Clean50 awards. In 2012, I was honoured with the Rising Star award by the AWF. In 2007, I was named a BC\'s Top 40 Under 40 Business Leader.
