About Benz Thomas

Benz Thomas is the South Asia Pacific Region Head of BRCGS (earlier known as BRC Global Standards)- a leading brand and consumer protection organization, used by over certificated suppliers over 130 countries. He is responsible for the company’s operations in the South Asian region and Australia-New Zealand. During his tenure at BRCGS for last five years, Benz built an in-depth insight of Indian market, its unique challenges for the organization at the HQ. He continues to do for the region as the South Asia Pacific region through feedback from certified sites and prospect sites. Prior to BRCGS, Benz led the Food Division at SGS India Private Limited, the Indian arm of the Swiss MNC, working in different capacities for more than half a decade. He headed the food vertical and also lead the sustainability initiative of the organisation. His career at SGS started by laying the foundation of corporate marketing and working on the function gaining acceptance in the company and moving from a support function to a sales enabling division. Benz has worked across several industries including IT and Manufacturing companies like Mahindra Satyam, Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) and Shoppers Stop. Benz holds a Master\'s degree in International Business from Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) and a PG Diploma in Advertising and PR from Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC).
