About Ben Ommen

My core values revolve around my work ethic, competitiveness, and open learning. Throughout my career, I strive to broaden my horizons and put myself in a situation to lead teams and be a part of one. This mindset has connected me with people around the globe and has helped me learn about a variety of walks of lives. It\'s opened me to an understanding that I may not have otherwise. In addition, I believe this experience and mindset helps me become a better team member and satisfies that competitive edge that I have coming from a background of sports. If I don\'t coordinate and communicate with my team, then I do not believe we can effectively accomplish the initiatives set forth for ourselves. I bring this work ethic with me to every single thing that I do. Coming off of that, I work as a Senior Data Governance Analyst at Citi. We essentially consult with the various information governing bodies, then we advise project teams and data owners on how to proceed within the realm of consumer data protection. I work to improve the processes within this team as well as manage the projects and action plans to accomplish our strategic initiatives. During this time, we have successfully migrated to a proper workflow management system, while reducing the overall risk to the firm through access management evaluation and gap analysis. I have broad experience ranging from presenting complex machine learning algorithms and solutions to implementing global process improvements. This experience is derived from my collaboration with my business and technical partners. Through this experience, I have gained a broader understanding of information security standards such as GDPR, KDC LDAP Authentication, as well as global risk and control reporting. This experience has contributed to my appreciation for organizations that value consumer data protection and privacy.
