ABOUT BEN NOTTINGHAM

Creative entrepreneur, business designer and experienced advisor with a passion for designing businesses and systems that combine profit with purpose. I currently lead one of PwC’s Technology Innovation studios, working with an amazing diverse team of intrapreneurs seeking to tackle major problems through a combination of design, emerging technology and disruptive business models. Previously I designed and launched the first start-up/scale-up accelerator program at PwC, co-founded the PwC Entrepreneurs Network and ran the first digital innovation lab using design thinking to create and test products aimed at tacking some of the biggest business problems facing early stage founders. Also led the development of products which never made it to market so quickly learnt to treat failure as a learning experience (sometimes a painful one) and now give talks on embracing failure in the pursuit of breaking new ground. With a background in management consultancy, I’ve also designed and launched an artisan coffee subscription business, and worked with a number of microfinance institutions and social impact ventures in East Africa and Asia as a volunteer consultant. I also advise and mentor on a number of impact focussed incubators / accelerators supporting the growth of mission driven entrepreneurs. Currently exploring how we might design new ventures that supports struggling communities and inclusive business models that give people dignity. Most likely to be found halfway up a mountain wishing I was in a coffee shop, or in a coffee shop wishing I was hiking a mountain.
