ABOUT BENNETT S.
Bennett currently works as an Assistant Engineer managing projects for the City of San Leandro. Presently, these include a sewer manhole rehabilitation, underground gas tank replacement, a neighborhood park improvement, and a citywide street sealing project. Previously at Harris & Associates, Bennett worked on long-term mass transportation projects such as Caltrain system electrification OCS pole layouts and V&V engineering oversight for the California High Speed Rail Authority. Before this, he was a Design Engineer creating plan, specification, and estimate packages for public clients around the Bay Area. Bennett graduated with a Bachelor\'s Degree in Structural Engineering from UC San Diego. He was an Engineering Intern for the summers of 2016 and 2017 at Mesiti-Miller Engineering in Santa Cruz, CA working in AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel to design various landscaping, park layouts, and conduct earthquake safety analysis. In college he worked on the UCSD Seismic Design team to plan and build a scale wooden building model for shake table testing, and took many design classes including steel, prestressed concrete, reinforced concrete, and timber. In high school, Bennett was a full-International Baccalaureate diploma graduate, and earned the Eagle Scout award.
