ABOUT BENJAMIN WEINBERG
Benjamin Weinberg is a Program Analyst with the International Criminal Investigative Training Assistance Program (ICITAP) at the United States Department of Justice. As a Program Analyst at the U.S. Department of Justice, Ben\'s role revolves around steering ICITAP\'s international programming, from conceptualizing initiatives to overseeing budget compliance, and interagency collaboration. The commitment to advancing legal frameworks and empowering law enforcement agencies from Europe to Central America has been his main focus in helping to carry out ICITAP\'s mission. He is a Class of 2021 graduate with a Master of Science in Foreign Service degree from Georgetown University Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service where he concentrated in Global Politics and Security. He also achieved an honors professional certification in International Business Diplomacy.Previously, Ben studied the Portuguese language in an intensive two semester program at Fundação Armando Alvares Penteado (FAAP) University in São Paulo, Brazil and conducted a research project as a 20••••20 David L. Boren Fellowship award recipient from the Institute of International Education. Ben is a graduate of The George Washington University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Affairs and Political Science with a minor in Geographic Information Systems.In addition to his undergraduate degree, Ben earned a Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) Certificate from the International TEFL Academy in December of 2014. He spent two years and a half overseas in Istanbul, Turkey where he worked as an ESL High School Teacher and then in Medellin, Colombia where he was an English Teaching Fellow with the Heart for Change Volunteer Program to support efforts in creating a more bilingual Colombia. For his year of national service, Ben relocated to Boston, Massachusetts to serve as an AmeriCorps Volunteer for the New American Integration Program. Ben worked at the Massachusetts Immigrant and Refugee Advocacy Coalition as a Citizenship program coordinator helping a couple hundred immigrants and refugees in the Boston area to initiate their U.S. citizenship application process.Ben has full professional proficiency in both the Portuguese and Spanish languages with basic working proficiency in Turkish and German. Ben is dependable, motivated, and personable. He is proficient in all Microsoft Office applications and is well versed in internet and database research.
