About Ben Tiernan
Senior field representative for electric cooperative members in Illinois, Iowa, and Nebraska with the Insurance & Financial Services Department of the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA). I present NRECA’s group insurance and pension plans to association members and help them make the most of their employee benefits. I joined NRECA as a field representative in 2017. Before coming to NRECA, I spent five years educating individuals and small businesses in retirement planning, estate planning, insurance, and investments. Before moving into the financial services industry, I worked for five years with the Iowa Association of Electric Cooperatives as the statewide’s Advocacy Coordinator. I am also a United States Army veteran, serving five years as an artillery officer.
