I am a web-centric software developer with over 14 years experience working across the stack and specializing in product engineering. In code I strive to build software that is documented, maintainable and extensible, collaborating with designers, developers, managers, and stakeholders to ensure requirements are met. In leadership I strive to build rapport with my team and understand their strengths, growth areas, aspirations, and concerns in order to keep them engaged and challenged.I\'m currently building products in the Healthcare space. The technologies I work closest with are React, Next.js, C#, SQL, and Azure using micro-service architecture patterns. I am also an educator, senior field faculty at NOLS, and I typically spend some of my annual vacation time to work a short course for the school. It helps me keep up-to-date on vital non-technical skill curriculum like communication, group management, and DEI. These days a course typically includes one to two weeks in the field with a student cohort. Besides leadership curriculum, I might also teach wilderness medicine, environmental studies, outdoor skills, and technical travel like mountaineering or rock climbing. When I\'m not otherwise working full-time these courses can last up to 30 days in length.My past work has included a wide variety of frameworks (Sitefinity, WordPress, Magento, SharePoint.NET/Core, Flash, Flex, Vue, Angular, React, jQuery, Next.js) and languages (JavaScript, HTML, CSS, C#, VB, PHP, ActionScript, ColdFusion, XAML). Responsibilities included front, mid, and back-end development, design, and animation working both independently and as part of teams ranging from 2 to 15 people.

   NOLS is a nonprofit global wilderness school that seeks to help individuals of all ages step forward boldly as leaders. As a faculty member at NOLS I facilitate & support powerful, authentic experiences in a remote, wilderness environment on courses up to 30 days in length by leaning on my expertise in a variety of curriculum areas including leadership, outdoor skills, risk management, wilderness medicine, environment, and ecology. Demonstrated exceptional leadership, interpersonal communication, and group management to build rapport with co-workers and students resulting in healthy group dynamics, open channels of feedback, and strong learning outcomes. Proactively addressed social conflict, mediating or facilitating as necessary, preventing breakdown in community. Employed consistent, sound risk assessment, judgment, and decision making even during high-stress, high-consequence situations, ensuring group well-being. Responded to mental and physical health emergencies with care, skill, compassion and compassion. Managed, coached, and taught students in extreme environments and conditions including vertical rock, steep snow and ice, glaciers, and rivers while maintaining high levels of safety and comfort. Worked closely with both participants and co-workers for formal and informal teaching, coaching and role modeling to reinforce learning, resulting in higher knowledge retention.
