About Ben Dent

I am a recent graduate of the University of Iowa, where I majored in Finance and minored in Psychology. Beyond the classroom, I was actively involved in the Tippie Business Honor Society, the Peer Mentoring program, and the Alpha Kappa Psi business fraternity. Throughout my university experience, I learned what it means to be a leader, how to mentor and manage others, the intricacies and importance of teamwork and collaboration, and, above all, the value of being an authentic and kindhearted person.I strive daily to pursue and achieve my goals with dedication and persistence. I excel in collaborative environments and thoroughly enjoy taking charge and leading those around me. I also have a passion for learning new things and adapt quickly when circumstances call for change. I am a quick learner who embraces the trial-and-error process because I firmly believe that failure is one step closer to success.

   Perform daily reconciliations between IBOR and ABOR to ensure accuracy of positions, transactions, cash balances, and investment data- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in trade data, security masters, positions, cash activity, and market data inputs, escalating issues when necessary- Validate investment data from custodians and external managers to ensure completeness, accuracy, and timeliness- Collaborate with internal teams (accounting, reporting, technology, portfolio management) to resolve reconciliation exceptions and data issues- Support operational processes by documenting procedures, participating in UAT for system enhancements, and monitoring open reconciliation items to meet SLAs- Prepare internal reports on reconciliation status and trends while building knowledge of investment products, accounting principles, and insurance portfolio operations.
