About Benjamin Caputo

I am a driven mechanical engineering student with an interest in manufacturing and construction project management. I have three years of interning experiences in field engineer, project engineer, and project manager roles, most recently at Giga Texas in Austin, Tx. My experience has allowed me to apply my technical knowledge of mechanical systems to a real life work application, while also developing my communication and leadership skills when it comes to driving projects to completion. I have successfully managed and turned over 24 construction scopes as lead PM. These scopes required field coordination and for me to track schedule, budget, and progress to roll up to the stakeholder. My intended graduation is December 2024, and I am open to any future full time opportunities in the mechanical engineering and project management industries.

   After completing two internships with Tesla’s Self Perform Team, I returned full time as a Project Manager supporting critical mechanical scopes within Giga Texas. In this role, I lead cross-functional construction efforts aimed at accelerating vehicle production, with full ownership of scope, budget, and schedule across multiple concurrent projects. I work closely with internal stakeholders and external contractors to ensure seamless field execution and alignment with broader manufacturing goals. In addition to project delivery, I’ve contributed to refining our quality control processes and procedures, helping drive higher standards of execution and accountability across the team. This position continues to deepen my technical expertise while challenging me to lead with clarity, adaptability, and a solutions-first mindset.
