My role consists of giving both Commercial and Best Practice advice to help clients resolve their internal HR and Employment law conundrums. Our client base exclusively consists of employers, delivering this service on behalf of the CIPD to their members, as part of their specialist employment law advice line. In addition to this, I also advise to our direct business clients through our CIPD HR-Inform service and platform.Key to this role is remaining conversant with changes to employment law legislation and understanding how case law may impact how legislation is interpreted in reality. This includes referencing relevant case law whilst advising clients on how to reduce risk of Unfair Dismissal and Discrimination claims at Employment Tribunal.The range of topics which client’s are advised on includes, though is not limited to the following- Employee Relations procedures- Maternity, Paternity, and other types of Statutory Leave- Contracts of Employment- Long term sickness and Medical Capability - TUPE- Employment Status- Redundancy - Unfair Dismissal and discrimination - SOSR Dismissal- Rights to WorkPart of my role also consists of collaboration with other departments such as Sales, Events, Contents and Client Experience. This manifests itself in advising in employment law webinars consisting of over people, and personal delivery of presentations at our quarterly service conferences on how best we can collaborate across departments to improve client experience.
