ABOUT BENJAMIN SCHARFF

When I was studying landscape architecture in 2009, I took part in a writing competition for a video game and got a job offer instead of a prize.I became a writer at GameLabs, a Frankfurt-based browser game company. I soon moved up to game designer and then creative producer.At GameLabs, I was also the Product Owner of Gallendor Battlegrounds, a groundbreaking strategy game for the time, with more than active players worldwide.In 2010 GameLabs moved to Malaysia and I started my own business in order to be able to continue working from Germany and implement my own games – Sparrow Games was born. At the time, I was also working as a writer and content designer for various other browser game companies.From 2012 onwards, I seriously tried to implement my first own game \"Brickwicca\", a trading card role-playing board game, developed with HTML5. In 2015, Nintendo was interested in releasing Brickwicca on the WiiU. But then, in 2017, I had to put work on the game on hold – because blood is thicker than water and my family needed me.I became a hotel manager and worked in my family\'s boarding house for five years. During this time, my production skill increased enormously, as I had to take care of everything in the company, from personnel to property management, advertising and maintenance of social networks.Due to Corona, the company had to close and I decided to go back to the games industry. For a better start and because I always want to give 110%, I decided to go to S4G first and then return to my old working environment strengthened.
