ABOUT BENJAMIN POHL

Benjamin Pohl works as a Senior Project Manager for adelphi, advising on climate and resource governance as well as their interfaces with foreign, security and development policy. His current work focuses in particular on transboundary watercourses and water diplomacy. He was the coordinator and lead author of an expert report on strengthening foreign policy for transboundary waters that was launched at the 2014 Stockholm World Water Week. Moreover, he has worked on (the politics of) specific basins as well as the risks for state fragility related to the impact of climate change on the water cycle. Before joining adelphi, Benjamin Pohl was a desk officer in the German Foreign Office, working on EU cooperation in security and defence policy. Subsequently, he worked at the universities of Leiden and Aberdeen, researching and teaching international relations and completing a PhD on EU foreign policy and the Union’s crisis management operations. Benjamin Pohl studied international relations in Dresden and Strasbourg (BA) and completed a Master’s in Conflict, Security and Development at King’s College London as well as a Master’s in European Economic Studies at the College of Europe in Bruges.
