Ben served as Medical Outbreak Specialist of a humanitarian and disaster response organization, leading infectious disease preparedness, prevention and response programming. He supported disaster responses with Ebola in DRC, Hurricane Dorian in Bahamas, and COVID-19 in several countries. Prior to this position, he managed large DFID funded Health projects in Uganda and Liberia. Ben has worked as an Epidemiologist with state and local governments in the US. In 2021, he worked with the CDC Foundation to support new Emerging Infectious Disease Branch of the State of West Virginia Bureau for Public Health. In Shasta County, California, as the county Chronic Disease Epidemiologist, Ben was the lead writer of the Community Health Status Assessment which serves as a foundational document for the county’s accreditation and strategic vision.
