My work currently focuses on coffee centric regenerative agriculture, gestalt leadership, and developing healing systems. Ecosystemologist, coffee strategist, and collaborator extraordinaire. Educated in Philosophy & Systems Ecology at UC Berkeley. Peace Corps Volunteer in Russia Founder of Faces Coffee, Vortex Doughnuts, and Slow Coffee. Coffee Quality Institute Consultant (Colombia & Ethiopia.) Two time Good Food Award winner (2012, 2013) & two time Good Food Award Judge (2014, 2015.)

   Wonderful experience working with the company through different ownership. I greatly valued my time working directly with Vince Piccalo. He is an incredibly aware and attentive being to the ways of the coffee from roast to cup. Then with new ownership, I have enjoyed working with the different style of work. The people at the company are simply wonderful and they put the coffee hours in to make available incredible coffees. I also really enjoyed working with the three different green coffee buyers the company has employed. All three brought a high level of expression to the game at different times (covid years.).49th has always bought from great farmers and coffee producers. I have enjoyed facilitating different sourcing relationships through the years with METAD, FAF, La Libertad, and other incredible farms. It is also a great joy to work with Canadians. Our cultural differences are sometimes subtle, but getting to deepen that experience through the years of visiting Vancouver. Vancouver is a dream city as well. I simply love it there every time I visit. 49th has been very good at not micro-managing me and just trusting that I will achieve the ask in my way (slow, compassionate, presence orientated.)
