About Benjamin Leipzig

I am a passionate and driven Accounting & Finance Student at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. I am currently seeking internship roles in finance and accounting. I intend on completing a 5th-year program to obtain my MS-Professional Accounting at UWM and become a CPA. My ultimate career goal would be to work in a position that allows me to use analytical and financial skills to work with people in a management setting. I enjoy working in successful teams of talented and skilled individuals and would like to help clients and companies find financial solutions. I discovered from a young age that I have the skills to lead teams, and manage individuals in the workplace. My current management experience is from being the Head Lifeguard/ Pool supervisor for the City of Kenosha. In this position, I was tasked with the management of lifeguards and other pool staff, and with public/community relations to patrons at the facility. Management of staff included the development of training and working with Human Resources for standard performance evaluations and formal disciplinary procedures. Relations with patrons included maintaining an appropriate family environment, enforcing all facility policies, and ensuring health and safety by maintaining standards developed by the local department of health, all levels of law, and safety standards as stipulated by the American Red Cross for optimal aquatic facility operations. In this position, I also supervised the collection of money and completed revenue reports at the close of each day. My interest in finance also developed at a young age, when I began trading stocks at 14 years old. Since then, I grew an interest in the financial markets and how companies\' decisions can impact the stock market and individual portfolios. This helped me learn to manage my money, and it even taught me financial concepts such as risk/reward, diversification, taxes, and how money flows through financial institutions. I realized that I could make a career out of what I had learned, and I hope to employ these analytical and management skills to my future profession.
