   Provide coordination of Treatment Assistants including monitoring resident environment, breaks and activities, interventions, orientation of new patients, room searches, drug testing and patient transportation coordination and support. Create, maintain and communicate daily Treatment Assistant schedule; ensure regular coverage, address schedule changes and provide back-up support if needed. Provide guidance and support for Treatment Assistant communication with primary counselors and nursing staff to manage emergent and complex patient issues including milieu management. Coordinate regularly scheduled staff meetings and trainings with Treatment Assistants to facilitate open communication and to provide a forum for education and staff development. Assists and participates with human resource management including but not limited to staffing and scheduling, performance evaluation, disciplinary action, orientation/development, and staff selection. Under supervision, provide case management, discharge planning and referrals for up to 4 assigned patients, to appropriate level of care/aftercare and to community resources including cross-coverage of patients assigned to other counselors as needed. Maintain chart documentation, under supervision according to Joint Commission, COMAR and Pathways’ requirements. Demonstrate basic knowledge of ASAM and DSM V criteria relative to the assessment of patient needs throughout the course of treatment. Attend and participate in clinical inpatient team meetings, multidisciplinary clinical staff meetings along with in-service and other assigned trainings. Facilitate weekly didactic, focus, and/or therapeutic groups as assigned.
