About Benjamin Dunphy

I joined the US Navy as a Nuclear Submarine Officer after graduating from the United States Naval Academy with a BS in Physics. While at the Naval Academy, I also co-authored two publications in the Journal of Applied Physics focusing on the transport and spin properties of electrons within quantum wells. For five years, I led teams of engineers and technicians through dynamic and technical challenges, ensuring the safe and effective operation of the submarine\'s nuclear propulsion and tactical navigation and weapons systems. I also developed and implemented training programs, improved maintenance procedures, and managed multiple projects with tight deadlines. In this role, I oversaw the repair and testing of the naval nuclear propulsion plant and collaborated with various stakeholders, including contractors, regulators, and senior officers. Currently, I am pursuing an MBA at the Harvard Business School, where I am expanding my knowledge and skills in business, management, and strategy. I am eager to apply my technical abilities, communication, and leadership abilities to new and diverse challenges in the private sector, and to learn from the best professors and peers in the world. I am interested in exploring opportunities within the finance industry, where I can leverage my analytical, problem-solving, and collaborative skills to create value and impact.
