ABOUT BENJAMIN DUMKE-VON DER EHE

I am a programmer at heart, but with a passion for understanding and addressing a user\'s needs and challenges and for understanding a product\'s bigger picture beyond the pure technical implementation. I enjoy working cross-functionally with people from different departments, roles, and backgrounds.I have been programming ever since I was nine years old, but only became a professional software developer when Stack Overflow approached me with a job offer in 2010. After six years of full-stack web development a year of Android development, a year of product management, I am currently Stack Overflow\'s only Design Developer, a more frontend-focused developer role that sits inside the design team.I have experience in various programming languages; among my favorites are JavaScript, Python, C#, and Go. I am comfortable on the frontend just as much as on the backend. If I had to describe my style of coding in one word, I\'d use “pragmatic”. I\'m happy to use proven tools and libraries, but I also enjoy digging deeper and implementing something new.I have a very good understanding of the building blocks of the web frontend: JavaScript as a language, its interaction with the browser APIs, HTML and the DOM, asynchronicity, web security, performanceconsiderations, as well as the principles, nuances, and challenges of CSS, including responsive design.
