ABOUT BENJAMIN DRUTMAN

As President of the Simon Family Foundation, I partner closely with our Board, senior leadership, and community stakeholders to define and execute a clear, long-term strategic vision. Together, we advance our mission—empowering the pursuit of the American Dream—by developing and operating innovative, best-in-class programs, and deploying philanthropic capital with discipline and measurable impact to expand opportunity for underserved communities across Orange County.Our two flagship initiatives are:Simon Scholars - Preparing students facing difficult life and economic circumstances with the essential leadership skills, mindset, and network to excel in high school, college, and into their careers. Simon Builders – Preparing high school students with the skills, training, and career pathways to thrive in the construction and building industries.During my previous role as Executive Director of Simon Scholars, I am most proud of strengthening operations and securing critical funding that expanded the program’s reach to 200 highly competitive scholars annually.Before joining the Foundation in 2017, I spent over a decade in the hospitality industry, establishing, operating, and selling multiple franchise businesses.
