Provides supervision to Imaging Technologists in the IDEAL Lab: schedules technologists and assigns tasks, monitors and reviews progress and does performance appraisals, reviews work results, provides guidance to Imaging Technologists as needed and monitors overall workflow to ensure that projects and or recurring activities in IDEAL are performed on time, quality is maintained.Under supervision, performs radiographic image post-processing and supports imaging research utilizing advanced visualization tools for enhancement, reconstruction, and analysis (both quantitative and qualitative) of plan radiographs, ultrasound, CT, MRI, and PET data. Utilizes computer software for production of 3D images and reconstructions from CT, MRI and PET data sets for visualization of anatomic structures. Produces quantitative measurements when indicated for clinical use and in research protocols. Ensures that images requiring post processing are networked to appropriate workstations, and processed images are networked to PACs. Determines whether CT and or MRI images originating from throughout the medical center (inpatient, emergency dept, outpatient, etc.) are of sufficient quality to manipulate and produce 3D images.
