ABOUT BENJAMIN BAUM
As a Power Systems Engineer, I focus on the development and strategic evolution of SCADA systems and OT/IT infrastructures that support reliable and future-ready grid operations. At TransnetBW, I am technically responsible for the development of MSHIP SCADA — a modular, cloud-based next-generation control system — and for further advancing operational concepts in the current SCADA environment. I also work on standardizing the integration of assets like battery storage systems, STATCOMs, and phase-shifting transformers. Previously, I initiated and facilitated the harmonization of two major SCADA-related IT projects, significantly improving data efficiency and cross-departmental coordination.
