About Benjamin Ashraf

As an epidemiologist at the Southern Nevada Health District, I focus on leveraging secondary data to support vaccine outreach efforts and wastewater surveillance of various pathogens. My previous experiences have allowed me to teach in multiple academic settings and design research questions exploring the potential relationships between environmental factors and vector-borne diseases. Through these various experiences, I have developed a strong foundation in areas such as survey design and administration, data visualization, research project development, geospatial analysis, and statistical modeling. Additionally, I have strong public speaking, critical thinking, and cross-disciplinary communication skills, allowing me to effectively engage with diverse audiences.I am proficient in R, ArcGIS, Alchemer, and Microsoft Office Suite, with familiarity in SAS, STATA, and REDCap.
