About Ben Winter

I am the Head of Business and Government Legal Affairs for Ericsson (Nadaq: ERIC), a world leader in the rapidly changing environment of communications technology, providing hardware, software, and services to enable the full value of connectivity. I lead a global team of over 50 lawyers and other professionals supporting Ericsson’s highly strategic, enterprise businesses. I also advise senior leadership on issues related to geopolitical and national security, including foreign investment (e.g. CFIUS) and public procurement matters.I bring a breadth of experience across my legal career that has included supporting national and international deals involving both commercial and government contracts, working in both corporate and business line roles, and accepting new and challenging roles that shield business risk on a large-scale. I am most passionate about solving novel problems involving cutting edge technology as well as leveraging my deep curiosity to make balanced, intuitive and data-informed decisions and provide practical business advice. Highly regarded by senior leadership, peers, and the business enterprise, I am also known for my strong executive presence, ability to quickly form trust, and build consensus.Prior to Ericsson, I served in senior legal roles across both corporate and line organizations for Leidos (NYSE: LDOS), a Fortune 250 information technology, engineering, and science solutions and services company, and Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT), one of the largest global security and aerospace companies. At LMT, I received numerous awards for service and leadership as well as advised on cybersecurity, insider threats, compliance, mergers and acquisitions, and process restructuring. Notably, I joined Leidos in 2016 following its $5B acquisition of LMT’s Information Systems and Global Solutions (IS & GS) business. At Leidos, I rose to the position of Corporate Secretary, where I was the principal lawyer advising senior leadership and the board on corporate legal matters, including governance, and securities, as well as leading the company’s International Trade Compliance function.In my earlier career roles, I handled cyber business matters for IBM, counseled on government matters for Venable LLP (an Am Law 100 firm), and served as a law clerk to Judge Marian Blank Horn at Court of Federal Claims for a two-year term.
