About Benjamin

I am a junior at the University of Delaware, and I am looking for opportunities in computer systems design and other related service industries. As a computer science major concentrating in cybersecurity, I have a passion for looking into everyday software that is being used by billions around the world and actively looking to expand on it for a safer, more efficient, and better future. My current experience includes being an undergraduate research assistant using VR/AR and AI to create an immersive learning environment to learn the ASL alphabet, and an undergraduate Teaching Assistant preparing introductory computer science material and the Python language to lead practicums and aid students throughout the curriculum. My current knowledge includes Python, Java, C, C++, C#, HTML, CSS, Typescript, and more. I intend to expand my knowledge by taking higher-level courses in computer science in the upcoming semesters as well as gaining hands-on experience and learning outside the classroom to hone my skills and passion in cybersecurity through online learning and projects. Feel free to check out my portfolio to get a better insight into who I am and what I\'ve been doing! https://bluebenjaminben.github.io/BL.Portfolio/

Standardized the R&D compound library consisting of entries by integrating CAS numbers, ensuring consistency across naming conventions, and improving data accuracy. Automated compound lookup and entry by leveraging PubChemPy to retrieve CAS numbers, molecular formulas, and monoisotopic masses from the PubChem database. Developed user-friendly GUI for the automation programs, enabling configurable request options and intuitive data entry for non-technical users. Collaborated with interns to build a Microsoft Copilot RAG chatbot aimed at assisting new employees with onboarding and SOP-related questions. Gained experience handling structured lab data and applying secure development practices in an R&D environment.
