About Benito R. Fernández
Trying to help create a better world.Founder of companies to commercialize intellectual property technologies developed during my tenure in The University of Texas at Austin- The Whisper Company: develops Private & Secure Communication Systems. Our flagship product, invisible-ink™,[i-i]™, uses patent-pending Persistent User authentication for \"Privacy you can see!\"(continuous authentication using biometrics) and patented Chaotic Hybrid Encryption for \"Security you can trust!\"(quantum-resistant encrypted communication), to enable private and secure communication between IoT devices- Machine Essence Corporation: focus on asset health diagnostics & prognosis based on sciences that include observability of nonlinear dynamic systems, communication information, degradation entropy generation, applied intelligence- SPAT (Salute, Physique, Aesthetica, Technologie, LLC): focuses in Applied Intelligence Tools for Machine Learning and Advanced Mechatronic Devices & Systems Agile Design. I have degrees in Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering (with minors in Oil & Gas, Polymers, and Electrical & Electronics Engineering). Programming since 1975.I worked in academia from 1979 to 2018. Developed the first Mechatronics class in the US (1993). Have (or have filed application) patents in recurrent neural networks, mixed-signal processor, robust diagnostics, extreme devices, chaotic hybrid encryption, and persistent user authentication.I have experience in Applied Intelligence (Artificial Neural Networks, Fuzzy Logic, Evolutionary Systems, Genetic Algorithms, Artificial Immune Systems, Mobile Intelligent Agents Systems, etc.); Dynamic Systems & Control (BondGraph Modeling, Robust-Optimal Adaptive Control, Sliding Mode Control, Observability of Nonlinear Systems, etc.); Mechatronics (Embedded Systems Agile Development, Mixed-Signal Resilient Devices, Hybrid eXtreme Processors, Chaotic Hybrid Encryption for Secure Internet-of-Things, Cyber-Physical Security, Distributed Ledger Technologies, etc.); and System\'s Asset Health Assessment (System Health monitoring, Fault Diagnostics & Prognosis of Industrial Equipment, Confidence Estimation for Risk Analysis, etc.)On a personal note, I was born in Venezuela from Spaniard, Portuguese, and Celtic ancestry. Love sailing, playing dominoes, and soccer, which I was a coach for 14 years. Founding president of AVA (Austin Venezuelan Association – Asociación de Venezolanos de Austin).

TAMOSI, LLC (now The Whisper Company, TWC) was formed by me and some of my UT students/researchers to commercialize (patented) intellectual property developed at UT. The main focus was to use hybrid computing to realize quantum-resistant CHECK™ (Chaotic Hybrid Encryption Communication Kit). CHECK enables IIoT (Industrial IoT) devices to communicate securely over open channels at a reasonable cost, with little or no overhead, by allowing OTP (One-Time-Pad) encryption using an Infinite Key (InfiniKey™) from a field of reconfigurable chaotic oscillators, realized in a hybrid computer. In 2019 we spun-off The Whisper Company (TWC) to focus on secure communication between consumer devices. TWC uses (UT) patented CHECK and (our) patented PUA™ (Persistent User Authorization) to secure the window to sensitive information without friction; All the time, everywhere and from anyone. These technologies are demonstrated in invisible-ink™, an App that guarantees that only the sender and intended recipients have access to messages\' contents–otherwise obfuscated. TWC has (CHE & PUA) licensable SDKs for app developers to provide an enhanced level of security and privacy to their apps. We provide quantum-resistant encryption with low overhead and latency, and continuous authentication tools (to FinTech and other verticals) that is MORE SECURE–minimizes the company\'s risks to fraud and chargebacks, increase customer loyalty, and as a differentiator, and LESS COMPLEX–enhancing the UX, that enables their customers to regain privacy, security, and ownership of their digital information.
