As a native of Bihac, Bosnia I grew up in Kitzingen, Germany and started my journey in the hospitality industry after completing an internship with a family-owned hotel by the name of Bayrischer Hof in 1996. The owner was so impressed with my work ethic and attention to detail at such a young age that she offered me a permanent job outside of school hours. I remained with the hotel for 5 years working in the Housekeeping/Back of the House and Food & Beverage department. I mostly enjoyed connecting with people all around the world and providing an exceptional service to them. My passion for people & caring for them resulted into choosing the medical field after graduating from Richard-Rother-Realschule in and 3 years later I earned my medical degree through a vocational school however remained connected to the hospitality industry. In 2003, my journey brought me to the USA and in 2004 I once again returned to the hospitality industry as a Guest Service Representative at Residence Inn Tucson Williams Centre working for a Marriott franchise. With great mentors and my ambitious nature I quickly grew through the ranks to become a General Manager in 2007 as the recession began. I learned how to do more with less and become resourceful & self-efficient. Over the years I successfully managed several Marriott branded hotels around the country in markets such as Spartanburg SC, Salt Lake City UT, Richmond VA, Greenville SC, Atlanta GA & Los Angeles/Manhattan Beach CA. I am a Marriott Multi-brand expert and my experience includes Residence Inn, Springhill Suites, Towneplace Suites and Courtyard by Marriott. I\'ve completed all required brand training for each brand including ConnectU, Extended Stay Sales Edge Class, Brand Immersion, Operation and Hospitality Leadership Excellence. In addition, I was also awarded participation in the Emerging Leader class in 2019 which resulted into a promotion. I am also TIPS & ServSafe certified.
