I’m an entrepreneurial “thinker-planner-doer” that has not only developed business and program win strategies, but I have also led multidisciplinary teams to solve problems and deliver results on complex space system projects.I’ve invented, sold, analyzed, integrated, taught, tested, managed, launched, and advocated/lobbied for space systems as a program manager/engineer in nine countries for commercial, civil, and military customers on launch vehicle (LV), spacecraft (SC), and aircraft projects at traditional aerospace companies and NewSpace startups.My accomplishments include:PROJECT MANAGEMENT AND SYSTEMS ENGINEERING Directed LV program and technical integration for 10 overlapping, multinational commercial satellite launch projects with contract value ~$1 billion. Launched five missions to Geosynchronous/Geostationary/Supersynchronous Transfer Orbits. Led pre-contract feasibility analysis, customer technical negotiations, certification of new LV/SC interfaces/adapter, and launch of 1st commercial Proton dual SC configuration. Led concept development and defined/directed the engineering effort of seven subcontractor companies through NASA System Design Review of integrated SC/LV concepts to deliver cargo in orbit to the International Space Station.LAUNCH AND OPERATIONS Managed or supervised operations for 100-person teams during month-long remote launch campaigns, including integration flow, travel and logistics, safety, security/ITAR compliance, dry rehearsals and launch.BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT AND CAPTURE Capture Manager for NewSpace startup company’s contract wins using a capture process that I tailored from Miller-Heiman, O’Guin, Rackham (SPIN Selling), and Shipley methodologies. Led technical and program negotiations with potential satellite launch customers, contributing to 20+ new contract wins with total value ~$2 billion. Managed, wrote, and/or edited proposals for commercial space launch service, DARPA, NASA, and USAF solicitations.
