About Bengu Erguner-Tekinalp
I am a professor in the counseling program at Drake University, Des Moines, Iowa. My theoretical orientation is Adlerian Theory. I integrate contemplative and expressive practices into counseling and teaching.my scholarship focuses on positive psychology, Adlerian theory and diversity and social justice. At the intersection of these lies contemplative and mindfulness practices. so who am I? I sometimes get to be the official smarty pants (working on it), I play well with others, I color and encourage others to color outside the lines, I am a worker bee, freedom lover, tree hugger, and a bookworm, I am a member of \"good enough people club\" and all is invited, the only requirement to join is the courage to be imperfect! And I believe in fairies and magic and healing power of community feeling.
