About Bengt Anderson
Bengt Anderson is senior vice president of Production for National Geographic Content. He responsible for leading the production and delivery of all global unscripted series and specials including travel, adventure, exploration, access, investigative, history and science for Disney+, Hulu and Nat Geo’s linear channels. With an extensive background as a creative executive, Bengt continues to act as executive producer across current NG series including “Pole to Pole w/Will Smith”, “Beyond Belief With David Blaine,” “Limitless 1 & 2 with Chris Hemsworth,”, and the multi-Emmy® Award-nominated “Trafficked with Mariana Van Zeller”. This is Bengt’s tenth year with National Geographic. Prior to his tenure with National Geographic, Bengt spent nearly fifteen years as a freelance creative executive show running and directing unscripted, documentary and sketch comedy content for networks and brands nationwide. He is known for his ability to synthesize and translate complicated subject matter into entertainment with depth, humor and heart. Bengt has produced and directed hit unscripted TV shows such as Bravo’s Emmy Award-winning competition reality series “Top Chef”; NBC’s “The Marriage Ref” CBS’ Emmy Award-nominated “Undercover Boss”; ABC’s “Wife Swap”; Discovery Channel’s “Backyard Oil,” “Brew Masters,” “The Detonators” and “Dual Survival”; History Channel’s “American Pickers”; NatGeo’s “Star Talk w/Neil DeGrasse Tyson,” and MTV2’s sketch comedy series “Stankervision”. Bengt graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the California Institute of the Arts. He has also acted in more than 20 theatrical productions, and lent his voiceover talents to television series and commercials. An experienced downhill skier, he is also an avid backcountry hiker, world-traveler, adventure seeker and guitar player.
