ABOUT BENEDIKT FALTIN
I am a PhD candidate researching the automated analysis of infrastructure construction drawings, aiming to transform bridge drawings into structured, machine-readable data and digital 3D models using computer vision and deep learning.This research directly led to the co-founding of blixdata, where we focus on building the digital foundation needed to unlock the value hidden in analogue and unstructured construction documents. Through my experience as a project engineer, I have seen first-hand how inefficient and demanding working with non-digital data still is, which reinforces the need for scalable, data-driven solutions in the construction domain.I work at the intersection of applied AI, document understanding, and the digital transformation of the built environment.
