ABOUT BENEDETTA MUSILLO
Since 2022, I coordinate a portfolio of research programmes on inclusion, with a focus on gender equality, violence against women and children, extreme poverty, economic empowerment, disability, and adolescence. I promote gender across the Research and Evidence Directorate.Before joining the Government, I worked for 14 years at the European Commission, advancing inclusive growth, basic services delivery, and trade across Sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia, and prior to that with the World Food Programme in Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh working on poverty, gender equality and food security. I hold an MA in Development Economics from the University of Sussex.
