ABOUT BEN D.
I’m the Director of Operations at York Developments, where I help drive some of Ontario’s most ambitious real estate projects. My work focuses on operational leadership, development strategy, financing structures, and complex regulatory navigation — taking large, multi-phase projects from concept to execution. Before moving into real estate development, I spent more than a decade in the U.S. practicing law as a corporate trial lawyer, which shaped how I think under pressure and how I manage risk, governance, and negotiations. I brought that experience back home to Canada, where I now guide complex development projects through approvals, financing, and implementation.Community work is a core part of my life. I serve as Vice-Chair of the Alice Saddy Foundation, supporting adults with developmental disabilities, and I’ve worked in the animal rights space as Staff Counsel with Animal Justice, Canada\'s leading animal law and advocacy organization. Focus Areas:• Large-scale development strategy• Operational leadership & execution• Regulatory navigation (municipal, provincial, & federal)• Governance, risk & compliance• Financing structures & multi-stakeholder coordination• Animal rights and disability inclusionAlways open to connecting with people working on meaningful, ambitious, or community-focused projects.
