ABOUT BEN TEAGUE

Chartered town planner with five years of experience working across the public and private sectors in both England and Wales. I am based in Southampton, working as a Planner in the Savills Central South Planning Team, specialising in maritime-related development for ports, harbour authorities and marine developers. I also deliver planning and Environmental Impact Assessment consultancy services for landowners, house builders, and universities across the south of England.Before my time at Savills, I worked as a Maritime Consultant, providing harbour master services for statutory harbour authorities, as well as conducting Navigational Risk Assessments, Marina Demand Assessments, stakeholder engagement and GIS analysis for a diverse array of clients, including ports, harbour authorities, regulators, marine developers, local authorities, and other marine organisations.I also spent three years working at Chester West and Chester Council, gaining extensive experience working on a range of major and complex minor projects in the housing, renewables, tourism, retail, and leisure sectors, as well as helping prepare the CWaC Design Code.As a keen sailor, my passion for the maritime sector has driven my academic and professional interests from university all the way through to my working life. I hold strong interests in how planning can help shape the sustainable growth of the blue economy, and how different stakeholders come together to shape our maritime environment.
